Pushpagiri Centre for Virology and Molecular Biology has the state to art facility which enables to provide reliable results. It has dedicated space/rooms for viral serology, pre PCR, PCR and post PCR as per national/international specifications.
Along with ELISA format, it is equipped with automated facility like VIDAS, Biomerieux, France by Enzyme Linked Fluorescent Assay (ELFA). The lab has BSL II safety cabinets, laminar flow chambers, -20C and -80C Deep Freezers, cooling centrifuges, micro centrifuges, electronic balance etc.
The molecular diagnostics laboratory has a wide array of PCR detection systems like ABI Conventional PCR machines, ABI Step one Plus Real Time PCR, the latest Biorad hybrid PCR CFX96, electrophoresis equipment’s and Gel Doc System.
IQC is done daily for all tests and the tests results are considered only when the IQC results are valid.
Calibration of the machines and kits are done as per the manufacturer’s guidelines.
Pushpagiri Centre for Virology and Molecular Biology has enrolled Virology External Quality Assessment Scheme with IAMM VIROEQUAS provided by Department of Clinical Virology, Christian Medical College, Vellore, Tamil Nadu. Separate EQC is been regularly done for infectious diseases serology and diagnostic molecular virology.
Equipment’s are regularly maintained by calibration, temperature logging etc
